Christantus Uche Ignites Comfortable Crystal Palace Win at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Even though embarking on their maiden continental campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Without star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually secures them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.

Another three points in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal direct passage to the knockout stages, particularly following a previous setback against Strasbourg.

This match provided a chance for several Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken finish. The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.

A solitary worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his senior debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the visiting side.
