Barça Ready for Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in domestic competition over two years since relocating for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed finished work included an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht next month in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
